Barniz de Pasto is an intangible cultural heritage of humanity (UNESCO), and in 2025 I visited the Barniz de Pasto workshop of the Artisans Gilberto Granja & Óscar O. Granja in Pasto, Nariño.
The Barniz de Pasto (mopa-mopa) technique is a unique handicraft in the world with precolombian origin which is still alive. They work with the mopa-mopa tree from Mocoa, Putumayo.
